Post Battlefield Bad Company 2 first impressions
Well, i've played the map around 5 times...

and i didn't like it too much for a few reasons

1- you can only crouch? wtf
2- hit registration gone.
3- confusing...
4- no commander

good graphics and good sound....

got to love the machine gun from the tank lol

No prone is just stuipid. They took it out to prevent camping, I wouldn't care if you couldn't shoot when prone you just need it for cover. Hopefully they will see sense and put it in.

No ping, no kd ratio, closed in view, lag, graphics are deacent but nothing special. Sound is very good though. Although its only 32, the action can be very intense as its really concentrated on certain points. Camping snipers (on your own team) are even more useless than in BF2. Feel like TK them, but then you cant as FF is off  :bang:

Didi would be the King at this game. Knifing is ridiculously easy even I can do it.

I heard they took it out because they had problems with prone and player created craters, apparently the player while in the prone position would hover over a crater as if it wasnt there.

I may have read wrong though :P

lmao what are you talking about(bf2 never had good hitreg!!!!!!)
bfbc2 has very good hitregistration!!!!!!!!
just because you need way to many bullets to kill someone doesnt mean there is no hitreg, different from bf2 where you hit but get dustshots all the time bfbc2 actually registers about every shot that is actually fired(as far as I have seen)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu4eyGnh ... re=related (no tweak, just bf2 hitreg!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
bfbc2 has the problem that if you shoot fullauto only every 2nd bullet is actually fired

guys ... its beta!!! not demo!! be patient...
I think that need change a lot bugs//things, but only ve one month for it, no time. For me this is not a beta, its an alpha
This beta uses Directx 9, and DICE wants to play with Directx 11, no time again and no hardware [may be Fermi out in march, too?]

Pretty sure they intend to include proning in the final. As for the beta, the map is pretty bad, at least for 32 players. Attackers have too much of a hard time in unorganized pubs whereas a game with an organized squad can take out the positions with ridiculous ease, simply by blowing them up with C4 or whatever else is available. Haven't really had the opportunity to try out 16 players since the shitty browser doesn't let you sort, but it should be better with way more opportunities to ninja.

Sniping is hard to adjust to due to the fact that zoom sensitivity is unscaled. Because of that your sensitivity will seem really high when you're zoomed in. Still, apart from the bullet drop/travel time, it's not exactly hard. Scope sway hasn't given me any issues whatsoever, mainly because there haven't been any opportunities for long-range sniping. Hope it's reduced by prone once the final game is out and bigger maps are out. Otherwise I'll have to learn long-range flicking.

Really hate the fogged-up scope, though.

run the updater, they fixed the zoom sensitivity (i actually had my sensitivity on zero for the first beta release)

yeah the silly visual effect around the edge of the scope is a bit dumb. this is clearly the work of someone who hasnt even looked through a magnifying glass before.

ive only had one questionable incident of bad hit reg and im definitely not sure about it, could have easily not noticed something.

long range sniping is fun, the bullet drop is again a bit silly but hey not gonna bother me much. its likes its that tiny bit too much, enough to notice but not to be a problem.

other than that gfx good, sound good, atmo good, class balance... so far so good. I tell ya it makes a damn nice change not having medics with the best assault rifles so 90% of the classes arent medics.

from a snipers point of view i can definitely say that the average joe sniper.... well actually no, the average joe sniper is a fucktard who can't aim and considers himself the stealthy lone wolf hunter killer sniper god... how about i put it this way... the average player that happens to be holding a scoped rifle :).... can actually be a lot more useful for the team than in bf2. They're a lot more useful for identifying targets and infantry supression. Spotting is..; well its not harder but there's less of it if you get me, snipers are in a much better position to do it than normal troops and being spotted usually means ur dead.

which is a damn good thing... is about time the recon class actually did some bloody recon :)

as for supression, by jesus do i love mortor strikes.... you lot comfy camping beind that rock? really? you sure now? ok...

the no prone is a bit of a tit, even purely becasue most of the hard cover is about knee high. hopefully it'll be in for release. I can't say I haven't noticed im missing that ability but it haasn't been a game ruiner so far

Ok. Where's the updater? I got the game through Steam and figured it'd update automatically. I have the sensitivity on 0.47, which makes for about 80cm for a 360, seemingly both unscoped and scoped.
