I'm a little confused, help
Ok, so today I was playing around with my settings , trying to get best best frame rate.
Here is what happened:
Low settings: 30 - 35 Medium: 25 - 30 High: 25 - 30 - in fact the game seemed to run best on high setting. This makes no sence to me.
What I find most annoying, is that I keep reading on the offical forum, people with lower end machines getting much better frame rates (45ish), with everything on high. How!!!!
So I am wondering, what is everybody else getting/setings using.
All tweaks welcome.
Cheers

Your PC is probabily on a par with my PC and I get around 60-70fps average on all medium 1xAA 1680x1050, it does dip below 40 when alot is going on, but still playable.
I have phenom 2 x4 3,2ghz (slightly better) HD4850 more or less the same. windows 7 (maybe this makes a difference but I doubt it)
Make sure AA is off in the game settings and nvidia control panel.. As soon as I turn the AA up to 4x FPS go down 30s. And turn that HASO or what ever its called off. You could try overclocking your CPU and see if it makes difference, but I still would of thought you would be getting More than 35fps.

Re: I'm a little confused, help
I get steady 50, except when there's alot of explodes, shooting, etc.. it drops to around 45. But it's still playable...
Settings: 1920x1080@60 (FOV adjusted manually to 59), all max, AA x4, VSync and HBAO Off.
Rig: Phenom II 720x3 BE ATi 4890 4 Gb ddr3 Win 7 x 64
I'm suprised it actually runs so well.. and relieved, that i don't have to update anything..
Anyway, you should keep you GPU drivers updated, because the GFX companies are propably tweaking their drivers now, when the game has been launched...

Well I don't know.
Just playing around again and I seem to be aroud the 25 mark (when in the Shit) no matter what settings I have. Also, I'm doing OK, aways decent amount of kills and about the same deaths.
You could try to change the RenderAheadLimit=2 to 0. I've read on some forums that it has given some extra fps to some people...
Also, I see you have a multicore CPU. You might want to try to get all the cores run with the game. You can do it by right click BFBC2 icon on desktop, in target box add: +fullproc Just like in BF2 you can add things in the icon..
With all cores running i got max at 75 fps, but still dropping to 45 when lots of happening around me... Anyway, i think it's worth of trying..

In most cases hardware performs better when pushed further and when running higher settings hardware tends to work better then under performing on lower settings. The hardware was built to play hard so why be tame and play at low settings ?
